We are delighted to welcome Mark Russell to Stair Park.
A versatile player with a noteworthy career in Scottish football, Mark joins us with a wealth of experience in the Scottish Championship, League of Ireland and the NIFL.
Supporters may remember Mark scoring his first senior goal against Stranraer at Cappielow back in February 2015, and the Inverclyde club would be his home for five seasons early in his career.
Having spent a year at Falkirk, this was followed by successful spells at Finn Harps and Galway United, either side of a further year at Morton.
Mark has spent the last two years with Portadown in the NIFL, recording 87 appearances in his two years at Shamrock Park, picking up Championship and Mid Ulster Cup medals, as well as being part of the Portadown side who contested the League Cup final.
Capable across the midfield, at left back or as a secondary striker, Mark’s extensive experience and skill set make him a valuable addition to the team.
Manager Scott Agnew prioritised securing his signature upon learning of Mark’s intention to return to Scotland, despite strong interest from other clubs across the leagues.
Mark will join up with the squad ahead of the upcoming friendly matches against Hurlford and his former club Portadown.
