Scorers: Healy (15) and Trouten (25)
League leaders East Fife extended their advantage at the top of the table thanks to first half strikes from Jack Healy and Alan Trouten.
There was little between the two sides in the opening stages but once the Methil team got their noses in front they looked well on course for three points.
Home boss Chris Aitken made three changes from the side that had lost narrowly in Peterhead during the week.
Lewis Reid, Tomas Brindley and Kirk McKnight all made way as a start was handed to a trialist, while Max Guthrie and Adam Cummins were brought into the starting line-up.
Stranraer could have been in front before East Fife broke the deadlock.
Scott Robertson found space in the box and saw one effort blocked by Brian Easton before the follow up was blocked by his defensive colleague Andrew Munro.

The hosts would pass up one more chance before the breakthrough.
Grant Gallagher lifted a ball over the visiting defence and Robbie Foster ran through on goal.
He got a little bit of luck in getting past a defender but then lifted his shot over both Liam McFarlane and the crossbar.
And so Stranraer were made to pay.
Former Stranraer midfielder Connor McManus found Healy on the edge of the box and his shot took a sizeable deflection beyond the reach of Sam Kane.
Ten minutes later and the visitors were celebrating the all important second goal.
It looked as if the ball struck Scott Shepherd’s arm but the referee’s whistle never came and instead Shepherd found Trouten, who had plenty of time to pick his spot and score.

From then on, Stranraer were restricted to half chances and regularly found McFarlane in the way.
Matty Grant tested the goalkeeper before the break and Aitken made a double change with Brindley and Deryn Lang brought on for Guthrie and Finn Ecrepont.
Unfortunately, Lang’s afternoon did not even last quarter of an hour as he was forced back off through injury.
Foster fired another effort at McFarlane and the closest Stranraer came to getting a goal back was as the game entered stoppage time.
Top scorer Mark Russell cut in and fired towards goal but the shotstopper got a hand to it and pushed it over the crossbar.
Stranraer may consider themselves unfortunate with the manner of the two goals conceded but they will need to dust themselves down for a crucial trip to Forfar Athletic next weekend.
