Scott Robertson has brought the curtain down on an extraordinary 11-year spell at Stair Park, confirming his departure from the club.

After considering a new contract at Stranraer, Robbo has indicated he would like to dedicate more time to a current coaching opportunity.

A feared and respected competitor known throughout the lower leagues, Robbo’s passion, versatility and no-nonsense attitude has earned him a firm place in the hearts of the Blues faithful over the past 11 seasons.

Having been part of the Stranraer sides which contested the promotion playoffs in the mid-2010s, captain over several years, first team coach, assistant manager and finally interim manager, Robbo has seen it all at Stair Park.

Now 37, and with 397 appearances, 20 goals and numerous Player of the Year awards to his name, the Blues stalwart has shown no signs of slowing down on the pitch in his final season with the club.

It goes without saying that we would all like to wish Robbo the very best in the next stage of his career.

Commenting on his departure, Robbo said: “Sadly, my time at Stranraer FC has come to an end.

“After 11 years I feel it is the right time to move on. As one cycle comes to an end, another one begins, and I believe now is the right time to step aside and let the management and new crop of players take the club forward.

“To the fans, thank you for the overwhelming support I personally have received over my time at the club.

“It has been a privilege to play for you, be your captain, coach, assistant and interim manager.

“We have been through a hell of a lot over the years, on and off the pitch.

“Stranraer FC have given me moments I will never forget and friends that I will have forever.

“I’m leaving with nothing but respect and gratitude for this club and its fans and wish the club nothing but success in the future.

“Thank you.”
