Scorers: Stranraer – Russell (Pen 61); Edinburgh City – Duncan (75) and Barrett (80)
Two goals in the final 15 minutes saw Edinburgh City bounce back from going a goal down to take all three points at Stair Park.
The Blues had taken the lead from the penalty spot when Mark Russell scored his first of the season just after the hour mark.
However, goals from Jack Duncan and Bradley Barrett ensured the points would be going back to the capital.
Stranraer manager Chris Aitken made five changes from the side that had lost by the only goal at Forfar on the opening day of the league season.
Evan Dunne missed out through suspension while Finn Ecrepont, Aaron Quigg, Daniel McManus and Ryan Edgar all dropped to the bench.

That meant starts for Beejay Coll, James Dolan, Tommy Sharp, Kirk McKnight and midweek signing Corey O’Donnell.
It was a first half of few chances but they all fell the way of the visitors.
First, Robert Mahon called Josh Lane into action with a powerful drive from 30 yards.
The midfielder came close once again just after the half hour mark and this time he had the beating of the home number one.
Lewis Reid lost possession as he tried to make his way up the middle of the park.
Mahon gathered the ball and took aim from outside of the box.
The low shot flew beyond the reach of Lane but bounced to safety off the post.

Three minutes before the break and it was Reid’s defensive partner Scot Rough who lost the ball.
Innes Lawson was the man to capitalise but he then fired wide of the target with only Lane to beat.
Stranraer had created little in the first half, with a Dolan corner being punched clear by Mark Weir in the away goal.
However, it would be the Blues who found the breakthrough just after the hour mark, with Dolan again involved.
He turned in the box and after passing the ball was caught late by Lewis McArthur.
Referee Jamie Wilkie pointed to the spot and Russell kept his cool to slot home.

It was a goal that should have allowed Stranraer to build some momentum over the remaining half hour.
Instead, the points slipped away as the visitors found a leveller with about 15 minutes left on the clock.
James Stokes did well out wide and when Lane could not hold the cross Duncan was in the right place at the right time to find the net.
Things went from bad to worse for the Blues, who then fell behind just five minutes later.
McManus could only head the ball clear to the edge of the box where the waiting Barrett finished in style.
A disappointing result for Aitken’s side, who will look to bounce back quickly when Alloa Athletic visit on Tuesday night.
