Managers revealed for Sunday 20 October

Keith Knox and Stevie Aitken will come up against Stevie Farrell and Alan Waddell at Stair Park for Grant Gallagher and Scott Robertson’s testimonial.

Management teams have been confirmed for the fixture, which kicks off at 2pm on October 20.

Already, more than a dozen familiar faces have been confirmed to play in the contest, which is toasting 10 years of service from both Gallagher and Robertson in the blue of Stranraer.

And while names including Frank McKeown, Craig Malcolm, Sean Winter, Michael Moore, Allan Jenkins and David Graham will be pulling on Stranraer shirts once again, there will be fans’ favourites in the dugout as well.

Knox played more than 300 games for his hometown side and rejoined the club in 2007 as reserve team boss.

After the departure of Derek Ferguson, he took the helm and guided Stranraer to promotion from the Third Division in 2012.

Joining him in taking charge of Gallagher’s team will be Aitken, who was his assistant before taking charge in 2013.

Aitken, who also played for the club, helped Stranraer secure their spot in League One and then was in the away dugout when the Blues took a famous point at Ibrox.

He also guided the club to the promotion play-offs.

Managing Robertson’s team will be a third former Stranraer boss in Farrell.

He took charge of more than 165 games, including during the coronavirus hit seasons.

The club also came close to returning to League One before Farrell moved on to Dumbarton.

And he will be assisted by Waddell, who has worked alongside Aitken and Farrell at various clubs, including Stranraer and Dumbarton.
