Annan Athletic’s management team will visit Stair Park for a second time this season, as Willie Gibson and Steven Bell have confirmed their participation in Grant Gallagher and Scott Robertson’s testimonial.
The Galabankies travel to Stranraer on September 7 in the third round of the SPFL Trust Trophy.
And while the Stair Park faithful will be hoping to send them home empty handed, they will be welcomed back on Sunday 20 October.
Fans’ favourite Gibson made 98 appearances for the Blues and scored 25 goals – many of them stunners. Still pulling on his boots at the age of 40, Gibson has played more than 600 games for clubs the length of Scotland.
Meanwhile, Bell, who is Gibson’s number two, joined Stranraer when it looked as if his career could be over. A serious injury at Dunfermline Athletic had sidelined the midfielder, who enjoyed a new lease of life in the blue shirt. He played 159 games, including in the famous draw at Ibrox, and found the net on nine occasions.
Already confirmed for the 2pm kick-off on 20 October are a selection of fans’ favourites, including Michael Moore, David Graham, Craig Malcolm and Frank McKeown.
