The son of former Blues goalkeeper Kevin Budinauckas has seen first team involvement at Ibrox, having been an unused substitute for the Champions League clash with Napoli this time last year, one week after occupying the bench for Scotland Under 21s.
Mackenzie Strachan joined the Ibrox club at the age of eight, before progressing through the youth ranks and securing the 2020/21 youth league title as Under 18s captain.
Hailing from South Ayrshire, the 19 year old playmaker is capped for Scotland at Under 16 and Under 19 level.
Both players featured as the Gers’ second-string side knocked Stenhousemuir out of the SPFL Trust Trophy last month at Ochilview, and go straight into the squad for today’s home match.
In other news, goalkeeper George O’Connor will be making a loan move official over the next few days, as the youngster will be heading out for some more regular game time.
Manager Scott Agnew is keen to ensure that George continues to develop and feels playing games is a priority at this moment in time, in order to progress and take the necessary steps forward to fulfil his potential.
