By the Numbers: Goals Scored

  • Post published:12 June 2026

With the new season not terribly far away, we take a look at some statistics from last season relating to goals scored.

Stranraer found the net on 72 occasions. That was enough for 19 wins and 16 draws from 51 games.

The earliest goal of the 2025/26 season from a Stranraer perspective was scored by Deryn Lang against St Mirren B after four minutes and 29 seconds. That was 11 seconds quicker than Finn Ecrepont’s goal against Edinburgh City.

Meanwhile, Ryan Edgar scored the latest in a game when he found the net in the second minute of extra time against Clydebank.

The Blues were at their most dangerous between 31 and 35 minutes, and in the final five minutes of games. In both five-minute sectors, Stranraer scored on seven occasions.

Late goals were a theme of 2025-26 for Stranraer

Out of Stranraer’s 72 goals, 42 came from a right foot and 18 from a left foot, with nine headers and three own goals.

Ryan Edgar and Deryn Lang both managed to score with their right, left and head.

Ryan Edgar and Deryn Lang demonstrated versatile finishing last season

Deryn Lang scored in the 46th minute against Stirling Albion in April. That was the first time a Stranraer player had scored in the opening minute of the second half since Jon McShane against Peterhead in February 2015.

The longest current wait for a Stranraer goal in any minute is now the 16th minute. Connor McManus is the last player to score 16 minutes in, against Raith Rovers in August 2019.

The Blues scored 36 goals in the first half of games last season, 35 in the second half – and one in extra time.
