Two late goals saw Spartans move to the top of the table against 10-man Stranraer.
The capital club managed to break through a stubborn defensive performance from the Blues, who played much of the game with a man disadvantage after Sean Docherty was sent off on the half hour.
Manager Chris Aitken made two changes from the team that had lost to Kelty Hearts last time out.
Scot Rough and Mark Russell dropped to the bench while Ryan Edgar and Evan Dunne were brought back into the starting line-up.
Both teams had started the game in promising fashion and had a good chance each before the game’s main talking point.
Spartans captain Kevin Waugh came close to breaking the deadlock when he found space at the back post.
A combination of goalkeeper Josh Lane and the post managed to keep the ball out and Stranraer then had an opportunity of their own.

James Dolan’s free-kick into the box was met first time by Daniel McManus but he could not direct his volley on target.
However, Stranraer’s challenge was made all the greater just after the half hour mark.
Docherty, who had been booked in the opening 10 minutes, misjudged a ball down the line and caught Cammy Russell.
Referee Daniel Graves reached for his top pocket and Stranraer faced the uphill task of taking something from the game with 10 men.
To their credit, they stuck to the task and all Spartans had to show for their efforts before the break was a Jamie Dishington shot which flew into the side netting.
Russell nodded wide just after the hour before Spartans started to put the home defence under more pressure.
Top scorer Mark Stowe saw a shot from outside the box deflected behind for a corner and the crossbar denied former Stranraer man Ayrton Sonkur with a close range header.

The home fans could have been forgiven for thinking that they might take something from the game when two quickfire blocks from Dunne and Aaron Quigg denied almost certain goals.
Unfortunately, from the resultant corner, the deadlock was broken.
The ball was only cleared to the edge of the box and Dishington’s low shot bounced beyond everyone and into the bottom corner of the net.
The Stranraer defence appealed for an offside flag that never came and the challenge got that bit harder.
Any chance of a point disappeared with five minutes left when Russell took aim from a similar distance and fired beyond Lane.
Elgin are the visitors to the Eco Gen Stadium at Stair Park next weekend in what looks like a big game for the hosts.
