We are delighted to welcome our new management team of Chris Aitken and Stevie Aitken.
Chris returns as first team manager on a contract until summer 2026, selecting brother and former Blues boss Stevie as his assistant, with the pair having spent over two decades combined at Stranraer.
Following a long career in the SPFL, ‘Tiff’ made 151 appearances as a senior figure in the dressing room between 2011 and 2016, scoring 33 goals during one of our most successful spells in recent history.
This was followed by four seasons as assistant manager at Stair Park – first under Brian Reid, during which the Blues contested the promotion playoffs, narrowly losing out in the final after a dramatic win over Livingston at the semi final stage.
Chris was number two to Stevie Farrell between 2017 and 2020, before managing at East Kilbride and Kilwinning Rangers.
Speaking upon his appointment, Chris said: “It’s a real honour to be the manager of this football club.
“The club means so much to me, and I can’t wait to get started.
“To have my brother by my side really excites me, and we’re looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Having recorded over 150 appearances for the club, Stevie Aitken led Stranraer to League One survival in the 2012/13 season, before consecutive promotion playoff finishes in our memorable 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.
After a memorable three years in the dugout at Stair Park, ‘Ginge’ replaced Ian Murray at Dumbarton, maintaining their Championship status over two seasons and leading the Sons to the Challenge Cup Final, before a spell with brother Chris at K-Park.
We would like to thank those who applied for the position, and wish all candidates the very best in their future endeavours.
The new management team will meet the first team squad at training on Tuesday night, as we prepare for Saturday’s trip to Edinburgh City.
