Stranraer’s growing resilience was once again demonstrated as the injury-hit squad dug in to take a point against high-flying Peterhead.
Manager Chris Aitken was already missing Adam Cummins, Grant Gallagher, Mark Russell and Tom Brindley going into the game with the title-chasers.
And the absentee list was added to with goalkeeper Josh Lane missing out.
That meant a chance for Sam Kane, called into the team on his birthday, while Scott Robertson came back into the starting line-up in place of Dean Hawkshaw.
Encounters between Stranraer and Peterhead have proved close contests this campaign, with a goalless draw in the previous meeting at Stair Park.

And so it proved once again in a first half lacking in clear cut chances.
Matty Grant had already stung the palms of Stuart McKenzie in the Peterhead goal before the visitors had, arguably, the best opportunity of the first 45 minutes.
Cammy Smith collected a pass in the box and called the goalkeeper into action with a low shot.
Kane could only push it back into the penalty area but Kieran Shanks’ effort was then blocked by Lewis Reid.
Stranraer could have been in front going into the interval, though.

Aaron Quigg’s shot from outside the box forced McKenzie into a save and the ball rolled agonisingly wide of the target.
Peterhead would have been pleased with the first half showing and tried to turn up the pressure after the break.
The first 15 minutes of the second half saw them enjoy plenty of possession in the Stranraer half.
Their best chance fell to Shanks but his header lacked the necessary power to overly test Kane.
However, Stranraer probably had the best chance of the game when they managed to launch a counter-attack.
Ryan Edgar did well on the left and switched the play to Elliot Dunlop, who was running through the middle.

The on-loan Airdrie man carried the ball into the box and cut inside before lifting his shot over the crossbar.
The other talking point of the afternoon would come in the final 20 minutes.
First, Shanks was booked for appearing to catch Grant as he cleared the ball.
Then, just eight minutes later, he brought down Craig Ross in front of the home dugout and was shown a second yellow card, followed by red.
Neither team was able to find a goal over the remaining 10 or so minutes but a point could be crucial for both teams come the end of the campaign.
