ldick1617LIAM Dick may be unsure where his future lies, but he is determined to bring the curtain down on the season with an impressive showing.

Stranraer welcome East Fife this weekend in the final game of the season knowing a single point will guarantee League One football for another year.

Even defeat will likely be enough for the Blues, with Stenhousemuir needing victory and a 14-goal swing to leapfrog Stranraer into eighth spot.

Following the tie with Barry Smith's side, the Stranraer players will let their hair down with the player of the year awards.

Dick, who won the young player of the year award last term, said: "Of course, you want to go and be able to say 'great win today'.

"You want to go with your chest out and shoulders back and feel good about yourself."

Manager Stevie Farrell is expected to sit down with his players over the coming weeks to discuss their future.

Like any close season, there will likely be changes in the Stair Park line-up with players coming and going.

The 21-year-old has become a firm fans' favourite since joining the club permanently last summer having initially joined on loan from Falkirk.

The defender said: "Personally, I have left things open.

"I have not spoken to the gaffer, he has not spoken to a lot of the boys.

"I have always said I would like to go back to full time and I am sure there are a lot of people know there was a bit of movement at Christmas and the move ended up falling through.

"It has only made me more hungry to go back full time."

Whether Saturday's game proves Dick's 71st and final game in a Stranraer shirt or not, he was determined to go out on a high.

Three points against the New Bayview men could lift the Blues into seventh spot, admittedly far short of where many Stranraer fans were hoping they would finish the campaign.

Defeat last time out against Alloa Athletic killed off the faint promotion play-off hopes.

The full back said: "We know it has not been the season we would have liked and the fans deserved more.

"We always had a little bit of hope even up till the last five games you thought 'you never know, we might get into the promotion play-offs'.

"We needed quite big results, particularly in the Albion Rovers game, and I think that slowed down our form a bit.

"But if you look at the bigger picture, we have done the job and we have only lost three games since Stevie Farrell came in.

"The Albion Rovers game we can hold out hands up and say it was disappointing and we lost 1-0 to Livingston and that was a game where they had a shot and it has landed to Liam Buchanan.

"It is another one of those fine lines that hopefully can get amended next season."
