Reserves win 5-1 in League Cup Semi-Final

Stranraer F.C. Reserves played Newton Stewart at Stair Park on Wednesday evening in a South League Cup Semi Final Tie. The Blues had not played a competitive match since Saturday December 12th. Stranraer eventually ran out 5-1 winners. Newton took the lead after 18 minutes through Stewart Taylor, however Derek Dougan equalised in 28 minutes to go in at half-time 1-1. Stranraer took control of the second half with Derek Dougan getting his second and shortly later an own goal from Newton player manager David Hyslop but the Blues 3-1 up. Mark Whorlow and Micky Wilson added another two goals to complete the scoring and book the Reserves place in the final against St Cuthbert Wanderers.
Stranraer: Gary Lightbody, Roddie Cooksley, Joe Maxi, Micky Wilson, Gordon Anderson, Mark Whorlow, Ian Miller,Neil Erskine, Derek Dougan, Craig Bradley, Richard Jones.

This Saturday sees the Blues play St Cuthberts in that final at Stair Park. If you can't make it to Hampden to watch Stranraer play Queens Park then get along to Stair Park to cheer on the Reserves.
