 Left sided defender/midfielder Alex White has signed up for another season after impressing lately in a midfield role. Alex who lives in the North East of England trains full-tiime with Hartlepool United FC makes the long journey north home and away to play for the Blues, this dedication impressed Derek Ferguson and Keith Knox into signing him again. |

Good Performance and win but! |

I n an entertaining game at Stair Park today Stranraer won by 1 goal to nil against Arbroath but unfortunately over the two legs it proved to be a narrow 2-1 aggregate defeat. Goalscorer for Stranraer was eventual top scorer Grégory Tadé with a good finish after a good move. Stranraer dominated for long spells with the woodwork denying them on two occasions. The Blues suffered a blow before the match when James Creaney and influential winger Andy Gibson were ruled out with injury. However Stranraer fought bravely and limited Arbroath to very little in the way of chances. Stranraer pressed hard for the equaliser in the 2nd half but it was not to be and it's Arbroath who get promoted automatically along with Champions East Fife to Division Two with Stranraer hoping for other sources to get promoted. Decision's on other matters will be resolved by the 17th of May which will decide which league Stranraer will be in next season. Well done to Arbroath Football Club on their promotion. A big thanks also go to all the fans that turned up in big numbers today especially the ones that took up the offer of free entry for primary school kids if accompanied by adults. |
